Emmanuel Habineza is a seasoned auditor and certified accountant with over two decades of experience. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), a founding member of ICPAR, and a member of the Association of Tax Advisors of Rwanda (ATAR).
Since the establishment of BDO East Africa Rwanda Ltd in 2014, Emmanuel has served as Managing Partner, overseeing the firm’s core services in audit, tax, and advisory. Prior to this, he was a Partner at GPO Partners Rwanda Ltd, a Correspondent Firm of Deloitte and Touche Tohmatsu.
Emmanuel began his career at Deloitte in 2005, rising to Partner by 2008. There, he gained significant experience in accounting and financial management systems, particularly on projects funded by institutions such as the World Bank and the African Development Bank.
Throughout his career, he has advised a wide range of corporations on taxation, auditing, financial management, and compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). He is well-versed in regional tax regimes and has supported numerous companies in aligning with fiscal legislation.
Emmanuel’s expertise spans sectors and company sizes, with a strong focus on compliance, business restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and operational strategy. He has also played a key role in advancing the accounting profession in Rwanda, contributing as a trainer, governing council member, vice president, and mentor to emerging professionals.
Fluent in English, French, Kinyarwanda, Swahili, and Lingala, Emmanuel brings a uniquely multicultural lens to his work, bridging global standards with local insight.
